Loving Life!

This is LONG over due , or so I have been told. There have been many adventures since the last post. Since my excuse has been we have done nothing fun to blog about I have been reminded that's not true. So here is an overview.

We went to Florida in October and had a blast with my family. 


There have been a drought of posting since September. I think I have just been too lazy to post anything else exciting. The week I took the GRE I got to have a study picnic date with Nick. It was accompanied by little studying and lots of ducks/geese.

We have had fun playing with this adorable little face! 

We just recently went to Utah to go to the Salt Lake Temple and we went snowboarding in Park City. Although we drove through the night and without sleep I get grumpy, we had a fabulous time. A winter get-a-way right before finals. (Obviously thats what I should be doing right now). Here are the few pics I took on our trip.

 Lots of fun with friends!! This is super random, but that's what you get with an amateur blogger. We are excited it's finally getting cold in Phoenix and it is truly feeling like Christmas time. We got our first tree and we couldn't be more excited!

Yes, our Christmas tree is in a Coca-cola bucket. Merry Christmas! :)

And so life goes on.

School is such a blessing. I thought that once you decide what you want to do for your undergraduate degree your path is set out for you. Get undergraduate degree, get married on the way, work, and have babies. Well, it's not quite working out that way. The plan is MORE SCHOOL! It's like the high school feeling. The first few years you don't think about needing amazing grades because this is a means to an end. Well turns out it's not. All that work is just showing that you are ready to learn harder, faster, and become more competent in whatever you are studying.

The problem is what to study..?

I have already decided that I don't need to decide that right at this moment. As long as I apply and do my best the right doors will be opened (or shut if that's how its supposed to be)

Phew. I had to write about that before I could write about something that would interest my audience a little more. (Okay this might be equally as "journal entry-esk")

Today is our 4 months. YEY! 4 months of married life and I love every second of it. We always try to figure out what our high school life would be like if we would have just said "hi" to each other once. If we would have dated in high school and then I would have had to wait for him on his mission (I dream Nick has to leave me and go on a mission a lot.) He was a cute missionary wasn't he? 

He's worth waiting for :)

But he has already been to Portugual for 2 years serving an mission so the next mission he goes on we will be together. 

So these are the only pics we have of the two of us that I haven't posted of us. From Mexico. There is a more in depth post on our MEX trip from Kensley's adorable blog. 

I am a bit of a scatter brain. But I have an amazing man and I am blessed to be able to go to school and hopefully continue my education. What more could I ask for? 

The Joy of Knowledge

It's amazing how quickly life can change. I wasn't going to blog about my past week but I have amazing examples that were stronger than I. It was very appearnt that Louis Tanner (better known as Maggy) is a loved woman by all. She was my dearest friend and grandmother. I miss her. And like my sister I am hoping that this is a kind of therapy.


Thank you all who came on Saturday to support my family at her funeral services. Thank you for all the kind words and strength you gave me on that tough day. She is amazing and her love was Christ-like. That's all that goes through my mind when I think about her. She was a great example to me and I want to be just like her.

My words are lacking for how I have felt the past week or so. I have all the knowledge in the world to know she is happy with her mother and husband and she doesn't have problems with her breathing or with her knees anymore, but I am still selfish and miss her.

A very important thing Maggy taught me was the importance of Temples. Because of the Temple I know I will see her and Poppy again. And more importantly Maggy taught me the most important things in this life are eternal so cherish them.
